This is not at all how to promote stopping child abuse.

(click, via)
Line on the punching bag: "Only Cowards Beat Their Children".
Uh, challenge accepted?
We've seen this exact same dumb idea for domestic abuse.
From the Chinese agency's press note:
"Problem: Every year, approximately 30.5% of children are abused or neglected, but less than 1% of incidents are reported. Ignoring child abuse makes it more acceptable.
Solution: Our specially designed human punching bag will be hung in busy public areas to highlight the problem of child abuse and help correct the widely held misconception that “Children can never be successful if you do not beat them”. This graphic display will not only educate the public on the rights of children but also remind them to be alert to child abuse and report it."
What I see is a free outdoor workout; You get a nice sweat with the bag.
Ad agency:  Linkus, Beijing.
Many more child abuse ads here, ranging from funny to creepy to terrible.

You know a thing or two about child abuse... You've long promoted on your blog violence against children.

If I saw a punching bag like this, I'd be all, "POW! Right in the kisser!"

That'd teach those kids.

True. I truly believe all dads should start their day by waking their sons up with an overhand right (or left) to the nose.

Do any of those heavy bags have girls on them or have they all been aborted by now?

What happened to the phenomenon of 'little princes?'

Sons who become extremely spoiled because their parents lavish all their attention on their one child.

Effect of China's One-Child Family Policy after 25 Years

The Chinese government has acknowledged the potentially disastrous social consequences of this sex imbalance. The shortage of women may have increased mental health problems and socially disruptive behavior among men and has left some men unable to marry and have a family.

The scarcity of females has resulted in kidnapping and trafficking of women for marriage and increased numbers of commercial sex workers, with a potential resultant rise in human immunodeficiency virus infection and other sexually transmitted diseases. There are fears that these consequences could be a real threat to China's stability in the future.

It actually said, "only cowards beat children at home." But it's not helping at all.
